K-9 Emergency Response Teams is a professional Search and Rescue team that offers our services at no charge to law enforcement, EMS and fire departments to aid in the location of missing persons. Our resources also include specialized body detection K-9's, evidence detection K-9's and disaster search response teams. Through the use of certified search dogs, ground searchers and medical technicians, we accomplish our goal of providing a highly trained team... to bring people home.
Note: K.E.R.T. does not have resources to assist in the search for missing pets. Our dogs are trained to only work human scent.
In addition to our K-9 and ground search teams, KERT has a medical component: the Wisconsin Medical Disaster Response Teams Medical Reserve Corps (WMDRT-MRC). This group consists of active health care workers who volunteer their time to provide KERT with an on-scene medical presence at trainings and responses. The MRC's primary role is to provide team members, both human and K-9 with rehabilitation and medical field support. Their secondary role is to assist the AHJ's local EMS during a mission, by providing specialized wilderness and technical rescue medicine.
KERT is based in the Fox Valley and has teams located throughout northern Wisconsin ready to travel anywhere in the upper midwest to assist in the location of the missing. We are a 501c3 organization and welcome donations and corporate sponsors. All donations are tax deductible.
Sorry, K.E.R.T. is not taking any more applications for membership at this time.
